Randall Caldecott (1846-1886) was a British artist hailing from Chester, England where he received his formal art education at the Manchester School of Art. He was most recognized for his sculptures, childrenÕs literature illustrations, printmaking, paintings and graphic art designs, as well as his realism style. His works primarily centered on animals, humor, African American history, still life, genre, and marine and nautical subjects. CaldecottÕs art has been exhibited in the Art Institute of Chicago, the Royal Academy and the Royal Manchester Institute.
