This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of a painting by H.M. Walcott titled, "Butterflies." Shown are three young girls chasing after the insects with smiles on their faces. The caption writes, "The spirit of children abandon to the joy of the moment and sheer delight in living has seldom if ever been more faithfully portrayed. The smiles on the youthful faces, the eagerness with which they anticipate the capture of their fluttering quarry, the grace of the figures, together with the impressions of space and atmosphere, are admirably depicted. It is evident that the artist was thoroughly en rapport with his subject."
