This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the revolutionary movement in Russia. Shown in the top image are soldiers and workers outside the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg (then Petrograd) listening to a speech by Lenin. The middle images feature an image of a soldier at the gates of Tsarskoe Selo Palace, and a Bolshevist car holding up signs and an image of Karl Marx. The lower image is of soldiers traveling on a motor car holding red flags attached to a bayonet. The caption for the center right image writes, "Soldier on guard before the gates of Tsarskoe Selo Palace, where the former czar and his family were kept prisoners, lifting on his bayonet point the red flag which concealed the insignia of the old regime that had been overthrown."
