This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of a trench system near the flooded Danube river, and soldiers entering Nish, Serbia during World War I. The caption for the bottom image writes, "Procession entering Nish, Serbia, shortly after the war had begun. In the group are slightly wounded soldiers from the battle front as well as Serbian peasants coming in to receive their first military training."
