This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of Russians retreating from Galicia during World War I. The caption to the top image writes, "Russian officer attached to the armored-car unit trying to rally the men of his detachment and inspire them with courage to face the enemy. Many of them had lost or thrown away their weapons in the debacle."
