1922 Rotogravure WWI HMS Hercules British Battleship Flagship Decoy Ship Wartime

This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of the H. M. S. Hercules and a few of its dummy ships. The H. M. S. Hercules was the flagship of the fourth British squadron; in order to deceive the Germans as to her location, dummy ships were formed, and served in the North sea for seven months.
