This is an original 1922 sepia rotogravure of a camouflaged street, and an aerial view of Cunel, France (Republique Française). The caption for the bottom image writes, "Airplane view of the village of Cunel, with its shattered houses and its fields pockmarked by the explosions of heavy shells. It can be seen that none of the houses have escaped damage and some are little more than mere masses of debris. It was the scene of desperate fighting as the contending armies surged over it."
