Inga Stephens Pratt Clark (1906-1950)
Although born in South Dakota, Inga studied art in both New York and Paris. She specialized in fashion, and produced a number of commercial illustration to make ends meet. She eventually married an American author, Fletcher Pratt, and together they hosted literary parties that would soon boast a large crowd of up-and-coming intellectual authors. After Fletcher's death, Inga went on to marry a chemist named John D. Clark, prompting him to write a novel that he titled Ignition!.
