Frederic Mizen
Frederic Mizen (1885-1964) was born in Chicago and became a noted western genre and landscape painter as well as illustrator, portraitist, and art teacher. He studied at the J. Francis Smith Academy of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Academy Julian in Paris. He is best known for his billboard advertisements as well as for magazine advertisements in The Saturday Evening Post, the American, and Collier's. Much of his advertising work was done for the Coca-Cola Company. He founded the Frederic Mizen Academy of Art in Chicago in 1936.
