This is an original 1925 lithograph of a collection of illustrated architectural detailing from a house on East Bank Street in Petersburg, Virginia, circa 1799 - 1814. The architect behind these botanical-motif column capitals and shafts panels was Robert Moore. Petersburg is a historical town in the state of Virginia, for it was the location of the Siege of Petersburg, part of the Richmond-Petersburg Campaign during the American Civil War that spanned from June 9th, 1864, to March 25th, 1865.

Period Paper has obtained a rare collection of large-format architectural lithographs produced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York City with the help and interest of Mr. R. T. H. Halsey. This collection specifically contained measured drawings of woodwork that were exhibited in the American Wing of The Met, and the hope behind the publishing of these pieces was to help inspire and aid architects, designers, and artists in their architectural creations. The artist of this collection was Mr. H. W. Waldron Faulkner, who was born in Stamford, Connecticut, in 1860, and who passed away in the Washington District of Columbia in 1940. He was most active in his career in Washington, Connecticut, and was best known for his artistic renderings of interior and exterior architectural designs.
