This is an original 1925 lithograph of a collection of architectural column designs from a room in a house on East Pratt Street in Baltimore, Maryland, circa 1810. The illustration shows the detailing of the columns' capitals and shafts, as well as an overall plan image of the mantelpiece they were adorning. Pratt Street is a historical landmark in the state of Maryland for it was the location of the Baltimore Riot of 1861, also known as the Pratt Street Massacre, during the American Civil War.

Period Paper has obtained a rare collection of large-format architectural lithographs produced by the Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) in New York City with the help and interest of Mr. R. T. H. Halsey. This collection specifically contained measured drawings of woodwork that were exhibited in the American Wing of The Met, and the hope behind the publishing of these pieces was to help inspire and aid architects, designers, and artists in their architectural creations. The artist of this collection was Mr. H. W. Waldron Faulkner, who was born in Stamford, Connecticut, in 1860, and who passed away in the Washington District of Columbia in 1940. He was most active in his career in Washington, Connecticut, and was best known for his artistic renderings of interior and exterior architectural designs.
