This is an original 1925 black and white halftone print of Dr. Dhondo Keshov Karve with a group of widowed women and women from the Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey (SNDT) Women's University at evening Puja (prayer) at Hingane Stree Shikshan Samstha (Widow's Home). Dr. Karve was a leader in the rights of widows and women's education in India and founded both the university and the widow's home.
