This is an original 1925 black and white halftone print of the Rio Plátano (Plantain) which is located in an area of preserved land in the La Mosquitia region of Honduras in Central America. It is near the Carribean coast. The area is called the Rio Plátano Biosphere Reserve and contains many endangered species and a section of rain forest. It has been designated a World Heritage Site since 1982.
