This is an original 1925 halftone print of the Congo river near Stanleyville (currently Kisangani) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The caption writes, "Though the Congo is immensely wide it has numerous sand-bars, which make navigation by night highly dangerous, and so the river-steamers always tie up to the bank when darkness begins to fall."
