This is an original 1926 halftone print of the Wansdyke in Wiltshire. Originally called Woden's Dyke, this enormous linear earthwork consists of two main parts. The Eastern dyke runs from Savernake Forest to Morgan's Hill while the Western dyke runs from Monkton Combe to Maes Knoll in Somerset. The prominent structure between the dykes is the remains of a medieval road that once connected London to Bath. An enormous structure, experts disagree where it actually begins and ends, but are in agreement that it hold enormous archaeological importance with many interesting stops along the road.
