This is an original 1927 halftone print featuring an image of Reverend William James Leonard about 1870, a pastor of the First Baptist Church of Evanston, Illinois. Mr. Leonard wrote the story of the devastating fire of Chicago of 1871. William James Leonard was the father of professor William Ellery Leonard of the University of Wisconsin.
