1929 Print Contest Advertising Philips Cerebos Bisto Clark's Creamed VENA3

This is an original 1929 black and white halftone print that depicts, on the left, four advertisements that appeared in an English newspaper as part of a reader contest. Participants had to redesign the ads, and a few of the top entries (on the right) are almost better than the originals! The winners were Harry E. Roberts (9 Vaugan St., Llandudno, Wales), I. A. Green (14 Tower St. Barnsley), W. C. Walker (83 Sunnyside Gardens, Upminster, Essex), and J. Rimington (16 Mileshill Cres., Chapeltown, Leeds).
