This is an original 1930 print of a monument by sculptor, Paul Landowski, in Muret, France to the memory of ClŽment Ader (1841-1925), the French inventor considered the "Father of Aviation."

Founded by ƒdouard Charton, the first issue was published on March 4, 1843. The magazine ceased publication in 1944. L'Illustration was known for its extensive use of beautiful illustrative material as well as for its articles. The illustrated pieces represent some of the finest quality printing from that eraÐÐusing as many as a dozen unique inks, metallic inks, emboss and deboss dies, and they were printed on a variety of the finest textured and untextured papers. Much sought after by collectors, these prints and covers are eminently suitable for framing.
