This is an original 1930 halftone print of General Charles S. Hamilton. Hamilton was born in 1822 in Oneida County, New York, and graduated from West Point in 1843. He produced two manuscripts titled, "Memoirs of Two Wars." The first memoir was about the Mexican-American War, and the second, the Civil War, where he served as a Union General.
