Edward Hopper
Hopper, Edward (July 22nd, 1882 Ð May 15th, 1967) was a prominent American realist painter and printmaker most commonly known for his painting Night Hawks. He depicted urban and rural scenes that reflected his vision of the modern American life. Hopper was born in New York and was known for his detailed perspective. In 1927 he had enough recognition and praise that he could afford to sell a few paintings which enabled him to purchase an automobile giving him the freedom to travel and the opportunity to paint more scenery. He continued to paint until his death in 1967.
