This is an original 1932 halftone print of William R. Taylor, the 12th governor of the state of Wisconsin-- serving from 1874 to 1876. Taylor was orphaned at the age of 6-- his mother died when he was a baby, and his father got lost at sea. When he was 28 years old, he moved to Cottage Grove, Wisconsin, and became president of the Dane County Agricultural Society.
