This is an original 1932 color print portrait of both James and Sara Delano Roosevelt-- the parents of president Franklin Roosevelt. The caption writes, "In the hall leading to the library at Hyde Park hang these two portraits: the Governor's father, born in 1828, who in his seventy-two years of life was a railroad executive as well as squire of Hyde Park; the Governor's mother, who at seventy-eight has three generations of descendants around her." Sara became the first mother able to vote for her own son in a presidential election.
