Joan Berry (1903-1989) Born in London, she is perhaps best-known for being the "voice-double" for Anny Ondra in Blackmail (1929) directed by Alfred Hitchcock, the first sound picture to be made in Great Britain. Some of her other films include: A Man of Mayfair (1931), Rich and Strange (1931), and Sally Bishop (1932).
Period Paper is pleased to offer a wonderful 1933 collection of original images from the world of film. This collection, which features some of the more unusual portraits and publicity stills of the great and (not-so-great) stars, is sure to be of interest to film buffs.
