This is an original 1934 halftone print of men walking into the dining hall at the Phoenix Camp-- a part of the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA). FERA was a part of Roosevelt's New Deal to combat the Great Depression by creating jobs for the local and state government. The administration was initially called the Emergency Relief Administration by Herbert Hoover, retitled by Roosevelt, and replaced in 1935 by the Works Progress Administration (WPA).
