This is an original 1935 black and white print ad for Reo automobiles, specially the featuring Flying Cloud two-door Sedan Reo Royale. The REO Motor Car Company was founded in Lansing, Michigan in 1904, by Ransom E. Olds. In 1907, REO was one of the most lucrative automotive companies in the United States; however, by the following year sales began to decrease significantly due to such emerging companies as General Motors and Ford. In 1912, mechanic and driver Fonce V. "Jack" Haney and journalist Thomas W. Wilby made the first automobile Trans-Canada excursion in the REO Special Touring Car. The model name of the Reo Flying Cloud would forever change the way companies named their vehicles.
