This is an original 1935 halftone print of two coal hoppers and a kiln at the Limedale plant. The caption writes, "To make one 376-pound barrel of cement, 110 pounds of coal are needed. The cement industry is the largest user of pulverized coal in the U. S."
Photography by William M. Rittase (1894-1968). He was an American photographer active from the 1920s to the 1930s. He is best known for his industrial photography and portraits often used in Fortune Magazine.
