, with a whip in his hand. The caption writes, "The explanation of this curiously pertinent cartoon is of course somewhat less apt than the symoblism. For Jackson's Experiment was less grandiose than Roosevelt's. It followed the veto of the bill to recharter the United States Bank and consisted inthe experimental deposit of the public funds in selected local banks-- the 'pet banks...'"
