This is an original 1936 six-page (3 pages, double-sided) article in French by Jean Gallotti about a Renaissance book Courses de Testes et de Bague Faites par le Roy et par les Princes et Seigneurs de la Cour, en l'AnnŽe 1662, a text about the Renaissance tournament: its pageantry, games, participants and their costume. Accompanying this article are stunning color illustrations with gold gilt borders and embellishments. The article also includes a magnificent double-page spread of "Le Grand Carrousel de 1662," a pageant held in front of the Tuileries by Louis the XIV of France, the Sun King. Please see all images.
