This is an original 1936 halftone print of a group of New Yorkers outside of Maronin & Sons Fur Merchants in the fur district between Seventh Avenue and Twenty-Fourth and Thirty-First Streets. The caption writes, "Every noon: a group of New York's 10,000 fur workers, relaxing." Photography by Fenno Jacobs.

Charles Fenno Jacobs (1904-1974) was born in Waltham, Massachusetts. He had a recognized reputation as a photographer by 1941, and worked for Life Magazine as well as Fortune. He is known for the images he took during World War II as a part of Edward Steichen's Naval Aviation Photographic Unit.
