This is an original 1936 halftone print of a vat of soap liquid at Colgate. The caption writes, "The two pipes dangling above the brew come from the big storage tanks on the Colgate docks. They pour oil and caustic soda alternately. The kettle boils. And that's all there is, in essence, to making soap..."
