This is an original 1937 color print of a detail of the restoration of "Descent from the Cross." The piece of artwork warped, cracked, and blistered. It took four months to return the piece of art to good condition. Seen in this image is the restored area to the left, and the unrestored section to the right. Photography by Holmes I. Mettee.
