This is an original 1937 halftone print of a home in Arkansas. The caption writes, "Unemployed architects photograph and measure tumble-down examples of early American building like this Dog-Run house in Arkansas-- an indigenous U. S. type which Sears, Roebuck Tudor is driving out of the back counties." The Works Progress Administration (WPA) hired the men to photograph and measure these homes. The WPA was a part of the New Deal, and employed millions of people to construct public buildings and operate literacy and art projects.
