This is an original 1939 tipped-in color print of Dutch Golden Age painter Gerard ter Borch's The Letter, depicting a prim and proper woman daintily completed a note. Much like Venetian painter Moroni, he enjoyed painting the middle class in Holland, which gave rise to many of his genre paintings.


This 72+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging throughout. No creases. No natural defects. No surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is printing on the reverse of the mounting board, and that there is some light wear along the edge of the tipped-in image.
