André Derain

André Derain (1880-1954) was a native of Chatou, France. He often mimicked the artistic stylings of Van Gogh and Cezanne. For a period of time, Derain also specialized as a pointillist (dot painting) painter. In 1906, Derain signed a contract with Pablo Picasso's art dealer, Daniel-Henri Kahnweiler.
