This is an original 1942 halftone print of soldiers in a Southern Pacific Railroad car. THe caption writes, "Some military trains use a baggage-kitchen car in which chow is dished up in true army style. But more often the S. P. supplies its regular dining cars, serving as many as 160,000 meals to the army in a single month." Photography by Horace Bristol.
