This is an original 1943 halftone print portrait of the chief engine-room artificer, Harry Howard, of the H. M. S. Campbeltown. Initially the U. S. S. Buchanan, the ship was transferred to the Royal Navy after the Destroyers for Bases Agreement in 1940.
