This is an original 1945 halftone print of a CONAD overseas arsenal of Langres, France (Republique Française). The caption writes, "The various stables and buildings were remodeled-- new concrete flooring, new electric wiring, new water and sewer systems-- and laid out on a coordinated plan for assembly-line production repair..."
"Conad History" (Continental Advance) was created to preserve the history of the United States Army supply forces, and to provide a basis for future studies by the United States War Department. The book covered the continental advance, communications zones, the European theater of operations, and the United States Army during 1944 and 1945. The Conad staff began in Africa and traveled to central Europe where they finished.
