This is an original 1945 halftone print of an Easter morning service in Nancy, Lorraine, France (Republique Française). The caption writes, "At the Easter sunrise service hundreds of CONAD troops gathered to worship in Nancy's picturesque park. Chaplains of CONAD Headquarters and from several units officiated. Group singing was accompanied by the CONAD Band."
"Conad History" (Continental Advance) was created to preserve the history of the United States Army supply forces, and to provide a basis for future studies by the United States War Department. The book covered the continental advance, communications zones, the European theater of operations, and the United States Army during 1944 and 1945. The Conad staff began in Africa and traveled to central Europe where they finished.
