This is an original 1945 halftone print of various signs seen in Missouri. The caption writes, "The people have a sense of humor: The state is full of odd place names. Besides Peculiar, Hope, and Freedom, there are Competition, Ink, Minimum, Protem. Useful is a new town on Highway 50 east of Linn. The emphatic 'welcome' sign is in Sedalia and the traffic sign is at Neosho."
