Millard Sheets
Millard Sheets (1907-1989) was born in Pomona, California. He studied at the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, California and was a member of the National Academy of Design as well as the New York Watercolor Club. He is known for the artwork he produced during World War II while he was an art correspondent for Life magazine and the United States Air Force in both India and Burma. Sheets also taught at Scripps College and at the Otis Art Institute. He is most known for his watercolors, but was also talented with oil and acrylic paints.
