This is an original 1945 color print of the Senate Reading room. The caption writes, "It is tucked away on the gallery floor, and to get to it the Senators either take a little stairway or slip through the Document Room. Not even their own staffs are allowed to intrude. The groaning shelves contain few popular works on economics and politics."
