Edouard Manet

Edouard Manet (1832-1883) was a French impressionist painter, hailing from Paris. He received his formal art education through the studio of Thomas Couture. ManetÕs main artistic influences included Goya, Frans Hals, Monet, Morisot and Velazquez. ManetÕs art primarily centered on nudes, social class activities, still life, Parisian cafŽ scenes, figures, genre, flowers, and war subjects.
