This is an original 1950 sepia photogravure of Gable Island which is located in the Tierra del Fuego Province, Argentina, South America. The island is situated on the north side of the Beagle Channel which separates it from the Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego. The Tierra Del Fuego (Land of Fire) is separated from the rest of Argentina by the Strait of Magellan and was first inhabited by the Selk'nam Indians about 10,000 years ago.
