This is an original 1950 black and white photogravure of the Notre Dame Church in the town of Louviers in France. The church has parts that date from the 13th century and the porch is an example of Late Gothic Flamboyant architecture. Louviers can be found in the Haute-Normandie (Normandy) region in northern France.
Normandy is the historical region corresponding to the former Duchy of Normandy in northern France. It lies along the English Channel and is traditionally divided into Upper and Lower Normandy. In World War II, the D-Day landings occurred along the Normandy beaches and that event began the lengthy Battle of Normandy which many believe was the turning point of that war.
