This is an original 1951 black and white print ad for industrial fasteners that were made and sold by the Russell, Burdsall & Ward Bolt and Nut Company (RB&W) of Port Chester, New York (NY). The ad also features an illustration that depicts French inventor Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot (1725-1804) building his three-wheeled fardier à vapeur or "steam dray" that was used by the French army to transport heavy artillery guns and cannon barrels. Cugnot's invention is argued by some historians to be the world's first automobile. Cugnot finished building his invention in 1769.
