This is an original 1951 color tipped-in print of a portrait of Madame Marcotte de Sainte-Marie. The original artwork in this print was created by artist Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (1780-1867) in 1826. Ingres was born in France and is known for his Neoclassical style paintings. He considered himself to be a painter of history, but was also known for his portraits.
CONDITION
This 60+ year old Item is rated Near Mint / Very Fine. Light aging throughout. Light creasing. Minor print defect - left side. No surface rub. No tears. No water damage. Please note that there is a library stamp located on the reverse of the mounting board. Information for the print is located beneath the print itself on the mounting board. There are a few small dark spots in the margins.
