This is an original 1955 duotone rotogravure of bird made of clay and tinsel that is meant to represent Burak which was the animal on which Muhammad ascended to heaven, according to Muslim belief. This bird is used in processions during the Mohurram festival in Ajanta which is located in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra, India.
