"Eupherusa Eximia Poliocerca"

This is an original 1963 color print by Rafael Montes de Oca of two members of the Eupherusa Eximia Poliocerca, commonly known as the Striped Tailed Hummingbird. With an average length of 81-87 mm., the lower parts are brilliant emerald green, with the lateral tail feathers and internal halves white. The beak is black. This hummingbird lives in the states of Guerrero and Oaxaca, particularly on their coastal sloves. IT is relatively rare and is found in regions between 1000 and 3750 feet above sea level. The pictured plant, Odontoglossum pendulum, more commonly known as the Pendant Cuitlauzina, rows in the Mexican states of Michoacan, Mexico, and Guerrero, and it flowers irregularly, between April and September.
