"Colibri Thalassinus"
This is an original 1963 color print by Rafael Montes de Oca of two members of the Colibri Thalassinus family, known more commonly as the Violet-Ear Hummingbird. With an average length of 106-119 mm., the bird's crown is sometimes dull, brownish, with the breast being a metallic blue. Their beak is black and relatively short. The orchid is Laelia Anceps, commonly known as the Two-Edged Laelia.
